What a beautiful afternoon of bridge, friendship, and remembrance at the Mignon Nearmyer Memorial Bridge Game at the Plymouth Community Center. Thirteen tables—more than 50 bridge players—came together to honor a beloved teacher and mentor who made such a lasting impact on the Plymouth bridge community.

For more than two decades, Mignon brought people together through her patience, knowledge, and passion for the game. Her influence was evident throughout the afternoon as so many of her former students gathered around the tables she helped inspire them to play at. There was something especially meaningful about seeing her students enjoying the game together while remembering the teacher who helped them discover it.

The event was more than a memorial; it was a celebration of the community Mignon created through bridge. Every hand played, every conversation shared, and every friendship around the table reflected the lasting impact of a great teacher.

Mignon’s legacy is a beautiful example of how a teacher can influence generations of players and create connections that continue long after the lessons end.
